Caribbean Blues

Sitting on the silky white sands of Southern Quintana Roo, four hours South of Cancun and about two hours North of Ambergris Cay, Belize, the stretch of land running from Punta Herrera to Xcalak is known as "Costa Maya".

About seven years ago, the Mexican government constructed a cruise ship port in the middle of that coastal area near the town of Mahahual. That port now welcomes five to six cruise ships each week. The Mexican government has recently identified this area for future Eco-tourism and has just announced a major residential and resort development just to the North of the port. Needless to say, land values will be escalating soon.
